Responsible for oversight and operation of 24×7 Voice over IP Telephony (H.323 based) system including back end accounting systems, system enhancements and assuring knowledge capture through documentation systems and practice. Quicknet operated Cuworld.com, a web site/video chat service; also on a 7×24 basis. CUworld utilizes both open source technologies such as Apache, MySQL and jabber as well as proprietary licensed technologies. Mentor junior staff members to assure their success and effectiveness.

Monitored and repaired information infrastructure (hardware and software) which included internal MySQL databases, internal and external Apache web servers, enterprise mail servers, desktop workstations, laptops, firewalls and routers in a start-up manufacturing/engineering environment. Desktop environment of Windows NT/2000/98 with file and print services provided by Linux using Samba. Administration and support for industry standard office productivity tools included MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook), FileMakerPro as well as supporting VLSI CAD tools. Administered source code revision control using CVS in both local and client/server modes. Maintained inventories of software available for use and installed on systems. Installed and operated work request/trouble ticketing system to aid in timely management  of end-user reports system problems. Obtained spare parts as necessary to facilitate workstation/server repair as the least costly means of maintaining systems. Provided support to corporate executives and sales force when they were away from the office or in remote locations.

Performed systems administration tasks in support of a start up Internet messaging portal. The environment included office workers and web/software developers in a mixed Windows/Unix
environment. Supported large Domain Name Service operation (in excess of 30,000 zone files and growing). Monitored Apache web servers and MySQL database servers to assure proper operation and make changes as necessary to accommodate growth and assure system availability.
